Like most of us, I spend a ton of time with my community or just out and about the town. In the past, the holidays would sneak up and before I knew it, HA CHU! I would get so run down that I would not have the energy to continue on. When my body is run down, my brain gets tired. When my brain gets tired, I feel that I can potentially fall into negative belief patterns. My flight mode comes up, so I easily storm away and create unfinished business. Or perhaps I lose my calm fast and react as opposed to responding. Listening to my body is an art, and since I have been creating space to nurture myself I have been healthier and happier!
After working today, I taught a fabulous ballet barre class and then I took a vinyasa yoga class. For the first time in awhile I was able to truly go inside and just be. This was such a nurturing experience for me. The ripples created from taking time to breathe were amazing. I washed away daily stressors and breathed in light throughout the yoga class.
During the yoga session, I noticed how beautiful each student looked in the reverse warrior. I noticed the lights as they dimmed and brightened, and I was able to giggle a few times when I almost stumbled in balancing poses. On the drive home, I spotted the beautiful holiday lights as they glimmered and blinked different colors and I really embraced the neighborhood wanting to spread beauty and joy with the different yard displays.
